"Photo was taken at Carroll's Drive-In in the 1600 block of Main Street - where Burger King now stands. I believe the two in the plaid shirts are Tom Heck and Pete Woolverton" - submitted by JB.
Interesting background images... Slipko's, Jenss, etc...

I wonder how many folks remember that Haeberle Plaza used to be Haeberle Field. It had a couple of baseball and softball fields, and I used to watch my uncle, Bob Woodring, play in Industrial League baseball games. After the game we would go to LaHacienda and have pizza and drinks. LaHacienda used to be at 10th & Pine where Spallino Towers now sits. It was a great area at a great time - the "good old days!"
You are correct the two youngmen in the picture are Tom Heck and Pete Woolverton.Pete and I were good friends during grade school and high school. We played tennis in High school and racquetball at the YMCA after we graduated from college.I moved to AZ. Who is JB?Tom Heck
Great pic - we recognized Tom & Pete immediately. Hope you are both doing well. Hello to Karen.

I'll be darned, Tom Heck and Pete Woolverton. I grew up down the street from the Hecks. The younger brother Doug was my age and I think Woolverton had a younger brother as well. We all went to Maple and then on to North Junior. After that my family moved to Lewiston.
Hey Pete Woolverton...Hey Tom Heck!

Where are they today?
In the photo of Tom and Pete (whom I don't know, but I'm thrilled to have found their pic!!) there is a taller brick building with the yellow Slipko's graphic on it. Did this building have an appliance store on the first floor? My mom rented a studio apartment in the mid to late '80's...and I'm almost certain it was on the top floor of that building. I've also noticed that building is gone...razed/demolished...at least it is on GoogleMaps. Does anyone know what happened to it? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Please post more pics! Thanks in advance. Dina V
